Good news, whichever way you lean
Nobody in Tennessee gets annexed against their will. Since 2014, a city
can only annex by resolution with the written consent of the property owners, or by a
referendum of the people who live there. Farmland always requires the owner's written
consent. If you want to stay in the county, you already have what you need.
And if you want in, you can just ask. Owner-initiated annexation is now
the ordinary route rather than the exception. A written request from you is where it starts.

The county and the cities drew these boundaries together in 1999 and 2000, and
by and large growth has followed them. There's a quarter-century of planned capacity still in
